Cross stitch update #1: Beta testing

I'm gonna try something a bit new...

For those who don't know me in RL, I am a rather serious cross stitcher. I have been doing it for some time now, and show it off to my friends at every oppourtunity (as they can attest :D ). So, why not show it off to people who are my lj friends, right? So here I am, showing off.

Here's where she was about a week ago



For those who know cross stitch, I am working on her on a piece of Silkweaver Lugana, 32 count cloth.

And here's where I finished up today.

I've been working on her upper body a bit...her face looks really good. It'll probably look better once she has eyes, though...





And now she has beads in her hair! A close up to try and let you guys see the shiny...





There are two different colors of pink-ish beads in her hair, not that the photo really lets you see them. The shinier, pinker of the two beads was such a pain to work with, because not one single bead in the entire package I bought fit my beading needle! So every time I wanted one of the pink beads, I had to take my needle off, painstakingly thread the bead onto the floss, thread the needle again...wash and repeat as needed. Thank goodness that's the last time I seem to need to use them >:(

Anyway...Finally, a close up of the crown motif thing at the top of the piece. It doesn't have much shiny yet, just a little Kreinik, but it will have beads eventually, once I've backstitched it.
The shiny doesn't show up too well in the picture, but both the light green and the gold are Kreinik.
