Finished Blankets

This is just an organizational thing. I will be putting all the blankets I have finished in here, with pictures if possible. Each blanket will get its own comment, added to this post as I finish the blanket. The 'rainbow blanket' post will be updated as I finish the blankets on my 'to do' list.

I don't imagine I'll run out of blankets to make anytime soon, I keep thinking of new ones to make (and buying the yarn for them orz)

First blanket

This blanket is made with the (now retired) Lion Brand yarn-family Cupcake, specifically the yarncake Coffee Break. I used 9 skeins, and while I somehow didn’t record how many stitches wide this is, I think it’s something like 400 stitches wide. Could I count the stitches now? Yes, but I think I would go nuts if I did. I did count 100 of them and then folded it to eyeball the final count. Might be 425, and I know I counted it out in segments of 25, so hopefully that’s roughly accurate.

I used U.S. size six needles (4.0mm).

Per this photo, the top is 8 foot 4 inches, the left size is 7 foot, the right side is 6 foot five inches, and the bottom is 7 foot 9 inches. This is not exactly accurate, as you can see the sides are all bendy and whatnot, and I measured it on the grass, but this is close enough imo.

This is the first blanket I’ve made. It was made in 2019, and I am fairly certain I started it in March and finished it in October or November.

Second Blanket

This blanket is made with the (now retired) Lion Brand yarn-family Cupcake. It is mostly made with the yarncake Tundra, but I also used one skein of Coffee Break (white-tan-charcoal stripes near the top in the photo, after the first stripe of blue). I used 6 skeins total, and it is 250 stitches wide. I used U.S. size six needles (4.0mm).

Per this photo, the top is 4 foot 8 inches, both sides are 6 foot 3 inches, and the bottom is 4 foot 6 inches.

This is the second blanket I’ve made. It was made in 2020, and I started it in April and finished it in December.

Third Blanket

This one is a bit unique! I wanted it to be special, so I special-ordered some six-ply yarn from a seller on Etsy. I actually got too much, so I may make another one some day... in different colors, but still.

Plied yarn is interesting and often frustrating to work with, but I got there in the end.

The yarn was a cotton/acrylic mix, and ended up being lovely and just faintly heavy, hopefully good to help baby sleep! I forgot to take a picture of it after it was stretched out, but oh well.

200 stitches wide, made with US size 5 needles (3.75mm). I can't find the measurements, I will edit this later if I do.

Third Blanket

This blanket is made with the Lion-brand yarn family Mandala. It is made with five skeins of the color Groot alternating with four other skein colors (Wizard, Mermaid, Nifflers, Sphinx). It is 500 stitches wide; I have concluded that this is far too wide, but it is done now regardless. I used U.S. size six needles (4.0mm).

This blanket was started March 9, 2021 and completed December 26, 2021.
